Haunted House in Ohio? It's a magnificent site, the restored and
luxurious bed and breakfast manor resting cozy and inviting across
the rippling waters of Lake Logan.
The huge white pillars embracing the front porch give the home a welcoming atmosphere. The sumptuous interiors whisper of luxury and comfort. And with the many fine tapestries, historically antiqued suites and modern conveniences, it wouldn't be unexpected that the mansion is a hotspot for weddings.
But what about a hotspot for the ghostly unknown? Is it a haunted house? Just ask the current owner, B.J. King, who tells a story of murder and mystery that happened in the house on March 10 of 1898. It seems the latter owner, a man by the name of John Engle was poisoned by strychnine placed in his coffee. His wife, who had tried to divorce him, was put on trial but acquitted of the crime.
So who committed this wrong? We will never know. But we do know that a recent guest reported seeing a ghostly form hovering over her bed. The owner, himself, had a detached dresser mirror clobber him over the head. Even an electrician working on the interior of the home had an uncanny feeling of being watched. The wife of the electrician even saw apparitions of a historically dressed man and children playing on the front lawn.
Who would guess that beneath the grand exterior of A Georgian Manner, there might be more than just cozy corners? But if you take a drive around Lake Logan on a foggy spring morning, you just might believe there are certainly others around.
