Ghost Hunting and Moonville Event: People have heard the sound of a train grating along the long-gone tracks. They have felt the touch of cool fingers on their shoulders. Some have embraced the sudden chill like icy hands enveloping their entire bodies. And others, they’ve seen the shadowy man with a top hat walking at the far end of the tunnel.

Moonville Tunnel has long been known as a place that is haunted. Even as early as the late 1800s, a ghostly figure of an engineer dressed in white, carrying a lantern, and with eyes like balls of fire were seen here. There is a new parking lot and a bridge above Raccoon Creek has finally been built. And for those who would like to check out Moonville after hours, there is a special event in October: Midnight at Moonville. Parking will be at Lake Hope State Park, with shuttles taking visitors to and from the event.
