Harvey Wells House

Harvey Wells House, Wellston OhioHarvey Wells (1846 - 1896) was a local industrialist and mathematician during the coal producing era. His house (built in 1883) sits high atop a hill inside the city proper. It looks down upon the city.  Like many of the other homes on the Wellston hilltops, it stands aged and slightly patronizing like a proud old man watching his youngest son go off to college.  Unlike the others, Harvey Wells - Wellston, Ohioit appears alone and abandoned, a certain darkness hovering around the curtain-less windows and dilapidated shutters.

But it is not alone. The house is said to be haunted by Harvey Wells himself. People in the town have seen his shadow at the windows on the upper floor where he jumped to his death on October 22, 1896.
