Hope Furnace -Investigation

Hope Furnace picture taken with infrared camera. Although we did not find any evidence of a haunting at the furnace, we did have some paranormal-like activity in the bottomland below where some of the buildings once stood.

Although we usually shrug off most orbs as the hundreds of bugs attracted to the lights and heat from our camera lens and other equipment, we thought this orb appeared a little different. Look to the right of Naturalist Dave Sapienza's left shoulder and you will see the strange light that could not be explained. The picture was taken in the bottomland between the furnace and the creek.

Here is some of the evidence we pulled from the Haunted Hocking - Hope Furnace program. There were approximately 30 people aiding in the investigation.

The group investigated the area around the old iron furnace and into the bottomland along the creek-8:00 pm at night.

Seventy-three photographs were taken with an infrared converted Canon Digital Rebel. This enables pictures to be taken in the dark.
